Warid Celebrated its Fourth Anniversary May 23 2009

Warid Telecom Pakistan celebrated 4th anniversary of its launch in Pakistan on May 23 2009. WaridTel Pakistan had won the GSM license for operations in Pakistan from PTA  by paying 291 Million US Dollars, in 2004.  Recently a law suite was filed against WaridTel by CEO of UN&I Training Development Consultants (UN&ITDC) Muhammad Umair Akhtar. Waridtel cover the GSM 900/1800 network, I had got my first Warid Number on May 23 2005 when Warid was officially launched in Pakistan on May 23, 2005. Initially Warid had launched its services in 28 Pakistani cities including, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Faislabad, Gujranwala , Multan,  in contrast to other Networks e.g Ufone which lauched their service only in one or two cities at start. In Pakistan Warid for the first time introduced 30 seconds billing and automatic screen balance at the end of each call or sms, Warid have a state of the art best quality infrastructure based on Ericson system.  Following is the excerpt of company statement, issued on its anniversary evening.
