11 5 2009 90875 l1  Informed Aitezaz sees no vacancy at President House PakPoint.comFormer Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Chaudhary Aitezaz Ahsan Thursday said if National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is abolished, then all the cases in this connection should be re-opened.

Talking to media at Supreme Court (SC) here, he said the time the apex court gave to the government on the NRO is going to be over on November 28.

Aitezaz Ahsan said if the NRO is invalid now as according to Federal Minister Babar Awan, then all such cases in this regard in the government machinery should be re-opened.

He said the president cannot be summoned to the court under Article-248 of the Constitution, adding no vacancy is being vacated at Presidential House.

He also signaled that he is going to hold a meeting with a high government personality on a vital issue in a few days.

When asked to identify this government personality, he shunned a direct answer by saying he is not going to meet party’s Chairperson.
