good show!
@haneef.gujar
Yes this seems to be a good effort by GEO TV, Let us see how it progress.
I just watched first episode of your programme ‘ Kia Aliya Nay Pakistan Chordia?’ I think you will make a right decision if you choose to leave Pakistan, but my guess is, you will not. I didn’t know you are a daughter of Mr. Ghazi. In my opinion he is amongst the rare personalities whom Pakistan could proudly boost as its citizen. No wonder you were able to produce such a program being a daughter of such a wise couple. All other guests in your programme were hypocrites and didn’t know what they were talking about. Pakistanies are basically hypocrites and have passion for useless criticism. The young ones are mostly corrupted and filled with perversion and are bad impersonators of the western world. Its a favourite hobby of most ‘returning’ pakistanies from abroad to criticize and make pun of their fellow citizens who were not fortunate enough to leave and live a better life outside Pakistan. MQM has destroyed next generation for decades to come and there is no way to recover from the bottomless pit Pakistan is continuously falling into. The key is to be honest and sincere with yourself and the people around you. Other things fall in the right place automatically. Pakistanies shy away from hard work and think its smart to beat the laws, rules and regulations in every section of the society. Those who respect the law are considered meek and cowards. This nation has failed to deliver since it was handed over to the bloodhounds at its inception. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for this country. Singing modern songs and shaking your booty is not progress. Use of cellular phone in Pakistan is largely unnecessary and is mostly used to satisfy perversions by young generation. There is no civic sense and no sense of responsibility. It is truly a ‘FREE’ country to do whatever you want without feeling guilty or being held responsible; depending upon level of influence you have in the society. Almost all the nation is technically illiterate and give a ‘flying f**k’ about importance of education. Everyone is filled with sexual deprivation and it affects his or her mental capabilities to think straight. Media hype is extraordinarily absurd about discrimination against Muslims in western world. Nobody cares what your religion is here. All they look for is honesty and respect for each other and respect of privacy. I came up with an abbreviation for PAKISTAN, which is, Pathetically Administered Kingdom of Inept, Stupid, Tactless, Arrogant Nation. I choose to leave Pakistan because I feel its better to give your best to people who will respect you for what you are and will reciprocate with equal hard work and honesty. The shameful lack of morality in Pakistanies is the reason for their decay. They are intolerant when it comes to accept success of other nations. Few of the respectable lot, which is still living in Pakistan, is only because they miss the delicious cuisine and weather anywhere else in the world. Plus, it’s easy to afford domestic help and avoid chores like washing, cleaning and cooking by them. Most of upper class can live much better in Pakistan and enjoy the privileges at very cheap cost compared to US or any other western country. Most importantly, when they feel like, they can travel back to their second country of residence and live there as much as they want till its time to come back without any problem. This comfort, to escape to a safer territory is unimaginably important for them and that is why there is no reason to change or work hard in Pakistan because when the going gets tough, they can fly away. Last but not least, the feeling of elation and superiority that engulfs these foreign residents when they come back to Pakistan is so powerful that they will never stop coming back again and again. Those who go abroad and migrate to US and other western countries try to impose their cultural norms here and disrespect the norms, which are followed here. They think it’s their birthright to change any place they migrate to into another Pakistan. The media only comes up with frustrated immigrants to tell their stories because not a single successfully merged Pakistani in western society will come out to whine and complain. Don’t limit yourself by geographical boundaries. It’s more important to feel indebted to humanity around the world and do something about it rather than wasting life among crowd of fashionable immoral hypocrites.
> Those who respect the law are considered meek and cowards.
Dear Asif, You are absolutely right that in Pakistan situation is really worse that you have to break the law to get your rights. There is no merit and rule of law. But what you suggest? Is there or will there be a solution to this ? Is the only solution is to leave Pakistan?
>Pathetically Administered Kingdom of Inept, Stupid, Tactless, Arrogant Nation.
Well said. quite innovative, but we should think to make this country a paradise on the earth. Can this dream come into realty ever?
>There is no light at the end of the tunnel for this country
I disagree to this, the light is within yourself and there is no tunnel in the world which has lights in it. A tunnel can not be closed for you unless you leave your efforts.
>Use of cellular phone in Pakistan is largely unnecessary and is mostly used to satisfy perversions by young generation.
I 100% agree, I have seen there is unwanted craze in Pakistan about cellular things.
I appreciate your response. Leave Pakistan. Acrimonious as it sounds but that is the only solution in my opinion. Innocent people will be left behind to suffer and the collateral damage will be huge but if those who can leave choose to stay, then they will suffer and die too eventually. Pakistan is an epidemic and people usually flee from onus of epidemic as far as possible.
I haven’t had the opportunity to watch Alliya’s program, but am sure the title of the program tell all about it. The comments offered by Asif are true in reality but not all of the Pakistanis are like them. I believe that the standards and yardstick of success our elders have set are wrong. Example of the same can be seen everywhere.
We lack the courage to speak the truth and then fight intellectually over the true values of the society. This can only be done by the young educated people of Pakistan. These young people can change the thinking pattern of the new generation although difficult to change the old hypocrites, in bringing a new wave in the society. All that needs to be done is to inspire people to work for the good. For this we need to provide them different forum debates and discussion in the media and re-energize the effort to fight this menace. We definitely need a revolution in our thoughts and minds in crushing wrongly set standards. These young lads have to organize themselves and declare war against the old hypocrites who have brought us all at this brink of downfall to the county not at home but also aboard.
I wish this program carries this message in their next episodes.
>”Innocent people will be left behind to suffer and the collateral damage will be huge but if those who can leave choose to stay, then they will suffer and die too eventually”
No never. This situation is created deliberately in order to presurize few to leave this place hence no resistence to their agenda. Poor will survive for few more days and will disappear authomatically when Roti will be sold for 15 rupees each.
If all Pakistanis having dual nationalities around the world come back to Pakistan with their assets (financial and non financial)and decide to live here for the rest of their lives, then I guess it will be a very large population of repatriates who could become a ‘Power Group’ and could assert enormous pressure on the government officials either politically elected or officially appointed to provide justice and accountability from every section of the administration. Those repatriates, being citizens of US, Canada, UK and other developed countries will surely enjoy an umbrella of protection from these countries. This will protect them from being exploited by corrupted power moguls already in charge of Pakistan, including military. These expatriates then can influence the course of whole nation by expecting decent governance and living like they have been living in these countries by following laws, regulations, civic sense and all other morals of a decent society. But who is willing to come back for good here?
>Those repatriates, being citizens of US, Canada, UK and other developed countries will surely enjoy an umbrella of protection from these countries. This will protect them from being exploited by corrupted power moguls already in charge of Pakistan, including military.
Yes it could be a good solution to the problem, but who and why some will convince these repatriates, You know whenever they left Pakistan these all were suffering will they like to come back?
You asked the solution and I gave it to you
. The problem is not about finding a solution, its implementation of the solution, whatever that is. The laboratory i.e. Pakistan, has been infected with irreversible contamination, hence it should be abandoned.
Let see what is going to happen? What will be the end of the story?
I know the end. You will stay in Pakistan.
Sorry, I meant Aliya will stay in Pakistan.
Awrat kharaab ho to us ka kiya ho ga. Yeh bewakoof awrtein u.k mein aa kar kiya kar lein gein. Yhan bahut aysi awrtein hein, one for every penny.
I am really impressed by the thought provoking analysis by Asif. A very concise and comprehensive diagnosis, in fact!
However, in my opinion, these are all secondary outcomes or ‘symptoms’ of some more fundamental issues. The first and foremost of these core issues is the identity crisis among the so-called educated Pakistanis. The less privileged masses always tend to follow this educated, relatively well-to-do class in one way or the other. This particular class has got itself westernized in a destructive way. So if somehow these people with more education, more opportunities and better exposure get their bearing right, the rest will be taken care of automatically.
Half of the traits Asif suggested emanate from this identity crisis and the rest is due to corruption and absence of justice in the society. And I think both of these problems should be viewed separately.
Now coming back to this GEO initiative about Aliya.. honenstly speaking it sucks!!
But it is not surprising as it is completely in line with Geo Philosophy. Cast religion and religious extremism as the basis of every thing that goes wrong. My Friends, Our problem is not religion, it is getting away from it and not understanding and adopting it.
Women Rights seems to be another hot favourite on Geo’s list. There is no doubt in my mind, that Geo is definitely working on a pre-defined agenda of propagating these concepts in a very calculated way. Someone in the blog said that all the characters shown in the program except Aliya were hypocrites. I agree, but I would include Aliya herself in the list. Probably at the top of the list. Isn’t it ironic, that people who enjoy maximum freedom, maximum women rights (watch the lifestyle of female characters in this program) and observe minimal religious bindings seem to be concerned about these issues all the time. The point I am trying to make here is that the character shown here in this program DO NOT represent Pakistanis, rather they are some sort of westernized, mutated ‘Geo-Organisms’, completely disconnected from their roots, born in bunglows in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, raised in Christian nurseries and schools, whose only purpose in life is to object the remains of our identity and ask meaningless questions to themselves.
Lastly, to all of you, be very careful when watching or listening any Geo TV programming and be very critical in understanding the subtle themes and messages conveyed.
I dont see the need of this program. It is just to cultivate tension amongst common man.
I agree with you Adeel. You see, that’s the problem with Geo…to create hype and discomfort by bringing non-issues to spotlight with a hidden malign intent and to spread their liberal fascist ideology.
Throughout known history, people have migrated from poorer lands to richer and prosperous lands merely for economic reasons and for better future prospects. Even birds migrate when going gets tough in one geographical location. Most of the Pakistanis who go out, do it for the same reason.
But Geo wants you to believe that one should consider leaving Pakistan because:
-> women’s rights are violated in every inch of this land.
-> Girl schools are being burnt all over Pakistan.
-> The Pakistani family system is fundamentally flawed as it stops your personal development. It makes you dependent on others and takes away your ability to make decisions.
There can be nothing more pathetic than the line of arguments being presented in this program and I strongly reject it.
yaar asif i will tell you what the problem is. in pakistan the army, politicians, bureaucracy they have all misused religion. they have misused religion because they never had a policy. imagine if you take something and beat the hell out of it. what will you get in the end? you will get something that is broken, shattered into a thousand pieces. so broken that it is hard to fix.
i am convinced. religion doesnt need state intervention to survive. the west is a good example of this. look at the muslim communities in usa, canada, and uk. by large most of them are sincere to their faith. as long as your faith is strong that is what matters.
but look at what state intervention in religion has done to pakistan? we have created a mess. what really pisses me off is when armchair critics who have left pakistan and will never return to it continue to spread their narrow minded suffocating policies in pakistan. if they think islamic goverment/anti indian govt is so good then they should try to establish it in the USA where they have geen cards and citizenships. or they should move back home which they never will. people like me who will eventually return home after their studies have to face the challenges.
the solution i think lies in: first of all leave religion to the people. concentrate on areas where you can actually make a difference. education, health, land reform, gender empowerment. investment in these areas will reap lots of benefits in the future.
secondly establish good relations with your neighbors. most countries who are advancing now have done this. stop supporting “jihad” and other bull$hit theories in Kashmir. stop looking to saudi arabia as a role model. if there was one country that has really harmed pakistan it is saudi arabia. they have funded and created thousands of madersa’s in pakistan which turn poor impoverished people into fanatics. lets stop the saudi’s before they destroy even more future generations of pakistan. for god’s sake look at iran even they dont support this nonsense.
we have to come out of this state of denial and stop blaming all our problems on jewish/american/indian hand. these problems are our own. we have to solve them. if we dont then i am afraid pakistan as a nation will cease to exist.
Junaid and specially Hanif, you guys have put the last nail into the coffin! I strongly agree with both of your perceptions, though with some differences, but I totally understand and appreciate the spirit of what you are talking about. I must confess it makes me feel ashamed to call all Pakistanies are worthless when I read point of views like yours. It does give me a ray of hope but then I think we get lost in our own personal lives and could never assemble eachother on the same platform. If we and others who share our perception get together somehow we might make a difference. But it seems like a wishful thinking to me. I dont have the resources to put up with logistics but I really wish to make an invisible power group, make it leak proof, energize it with all its passion and commitment and then hit it hard on our soil one day to clean all the mess. And then, I wake up from a dream suddenly!
@asif
“I wake up from a dream suddenly!”

I want to write to Aliya on her personal email. Can you please provide me her email address?
Let me try to get this
Once heard this advice from elders:
“The Above Average Intelligent & Courageous People are who produce the best result in the worst circumstances this lady Aliya who is on prima fecie basis impressed with the Western Media & their Cultural Values she has left Pakistan as her mind was already made up before shooting this programme .†For better prospects she wanted to leave i.e. OK but why she was trying to create hype? Just for Cheap Publicity!!!??? This show was not more than Phlegmatic Spit!
Mr. Adnan, Your English is articulate…….well……….that’s about it!
Could you get the email of Aliya please?
Where did u go man?
Here is Aliya’s email address:
aliya@geo.tv
Asif, I think you’ve been a little too harsh about all Pakistanis. I know that many of the things you have mentioned are sadly true but it isn’t true for all of them. I do like the idea of making an invisible power group though but sure is a dream.
…
Hello Zehra, Thank you for reading through my acrimonious and unpatriotic thoughts. Yes, I had been very very harsh but before I began to vomit, I expressed my appreciation towards Aliya’s father, Mr. Ghazi Salahuddin as one of the persons who bring pride to Pakistan. He is one of the personalies among a very short list of Pakistanis who I consider a treasure for the country.
My offer is still valid for creating a power group and in my opinion dreams may come true if we consistently keep on trying to cascade our subconscious over our conscious mind.
See you around.
P.S. thanks for her email address, however, sadly speaking, she is not ‘solely’in charge or ‘independent’ enough to respond to my email, which I gathered from her production team’s stern reply earlier. So its no use writing her.
Hey,
I actually emailed her after I watched her first episode and she wrote back the next day. Her email was quite warm, sweet n personal. I personally like the program and the different issues she discusses in each of her shows. She is one of the few creative people in the media in Pakistan. I absolutely loved her show “George ka Pakistan” as well. I can relate to her in so many ways as I feel the same things for Pakistan ever since I’ve moved to US, more so because I’m a girl n understand the frustrations and problems she went thru too. I love the way her documentary is so well done and the amazing Urdu narration. Its so hard to find something like that on a Pakistani channel these days.
Let me know when you create that power group…I am in
Hi again Zehra, being a nice person as you sound, I am not surprised that she wrote you a warm reply. And you replied me so nicely too, after reading such bitterness from me, yet, she didn’t had the guts to reply me practically. Instead she responded with a lame accusation that I didn’t had the courage to reveal my identity hence I don’t deserve a real feedback (so typical of a Pakistani woman). If you want, I can forward you her reply on your email address. take care
Asif
Where are you Zehra?
Zehra?
Yeah Zehara!
Hello Asif, answer to your first question can be clearly found in my earlier post to you, i am in usa now
Okay i feel that you are really generalizing everyone with regards to your strong emotional negative feelings towards pakistan and pakistanis, very clearly stating ‘so typical of a pakistani woman’ shows how you tend to perceive people in a general context and not on a individual context. The very fact that Aliya has decided to show all aspects [good and bad] about living in and away from pakistan shows that she is different, and trying to make a difference in her own way.
How about you give me your email address and i’ll reply to you there.
Thanks for replying me Zehra, I knew you would be offended when i wrote ‘how typical of a pakistani woman’. You are right, I am generalizing to a great extent when it comes to expressing my opinion about pakistanies. I would love to change that aspect in me. Probably you can help. hoping2bsoon@yahoo.com is my email address. Looking forward to hear from you there. Take care
Asif
I dont know why but my previous reply to you was deleted. I gave you my email address in it. hoping2bsoon@yahoo.com
see u there
take care
Asif
oh btw that was me Zehra. I guess I forgot to fill in my name.
hi again, this is crazy, whatever i m writing is being deleted deliberately by someone. Did you get my email address?
nope!
hoping2bsoon@yahoo.com thats my address. let me know if you get it this time. take care
Asif
Got it.
@Asif who is deleting your writings?
